Excellency,
On behalf of the Government and people of Thailand, I would like to express my deep condolences and sincere sympathy to you, and those affected by Cyclone Amphan which struck the States of West Bengal and Odisha on 20-21 May 2020. Our thoughts and prayers are with Your Excellency and the people of India during this difficult time.
The Government of India’s response to the situation has been quick and effective amidst hindrances caused by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. I am certain that with India’s experience in disaster management as well as the strong spirit of all Indian people, the affected areas will be fully rehabilitated and return to normalcy soon. I would also like to take this opportunity to express sincere appreciation to Your Excellency and the Indian authorities concerned in facilitating the repatriation flight of the Thai nationals from Kolkata during this challenging time.

It is with profound sadness to learn of the massive destruction brought by Cyclone Amphan that struck the States of West Bengal and Odisha on 20-21 May 2020.
In this regard, I would like to expend my sincere sympathy and deep condolences to those who lost their loved ones and those affected in the aftermath of this natural disaster. I firmly believe that, despite the difficulties posed by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of India’s swift and effective disaster management as well as the solidarity of the Indian people will being rapid recovery to the affected areas and its people.
