US Ambassador to Thailand paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of his assumption of duty to discuss ways to further enhance the multi-faceted bilateral cooperation, particularly the cooperation on public health in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On 20 April 2020, H.E. Mr. Michael George DeSombre, Ambassador of the United States of America to Thailand paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Foreign Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his assumption of duty, while Ambassador DeSombre reiterated Thailand’s strategic importance to the United States as well as the strong alliance between the two countries.
Both sides discussed ways to further enhance the multi-faceted bilateral cooperation, particularly the cooperation on public health in response to the widespread of COVID-19. They also exchanged views on economic cooperation and investment, particularly to revive economic activities, as well as mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on both nationals and businesses. Latest developments on regional issues were also discussed during the meeting.
