On 12 February 2020, H.E. Ms. Karntimon Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway,  welcomed Mr. Chaiwat Kovavisarach, CEO and executive members of Bangchak Corporation, and his delegation who came to Norway to attend the executive board meeting of OKEA, an energy company in which Bangchak is a major shareholder.  OKEA owns an offshore oil and gas drilling rig known as the Draugen platform, located in the Norwegian sea. Crude oil produced at this platform is exported to countries in Europe, while natural gas is exported to the United Kingdom.

Bangchak’s investment expansion through major corporations abroad reflects the global competitiveness of the Thai private sectors. The company also attaches importance to promoting Thailand’s interests in other potential areas such as activities to strengthen people- to-people contact and extended its readiness to support the Royal Thai Embassy on this matter.
