On 24 January 2020, Mrs. Christine Schraner Burgener, Special Envoy of the Secretary-General on Myanmar, met with H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangkok.

On this occasion, both sides exchanged views on developments in Myanmar and the role of Thailand and ASEAN on the situation in Rakhine State, especially during Thailand’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2019. The Special Envoy expressed readiness to support Thailand and ASEAN in working constructively with Myanmar to address the issue.
