On 3 December 2019, Mr. Krit Tankanarat, Consul-General of Thailand to Osaka, accompanied by Miss Patcharada Nawakawongkarn, Director of Thailand Board of Investment, Osaka Office, called on Mr. Masayoshi Matsumoto, Chairman of Kansai Economic Federation (Kankeiren).

                        Both sides agreed to further strengthen economic cooperation between Thailand and Kansai region (West Japan).  On this matter, Consul-General Tankanarat commended Mr. Matsumoto’s initiative on the Asia Business Creation Platform, established to promote business exchanges between Kansai and South East Asian countries in the fields of human resource development, medical and nursing care, SME, agriculture and tourism. Seven economic organizations in South East Asia, including the Federation of Thai Industries, joined the ABC Platform.  To further utilize the platform, Kankeiren will dispatch one staff to Thailand as ABC Platform help desk officer to liaise with other member organizations as well as to seek new business opportunities in Thailand and South East Asia.

                        Consul-General Tankanarat also mentioned about potentials and keenness of prefectures in Kansai to expand cooperation with Thailand and expressed his readiness to support all the endeavours of Kankeiren for the mutual economic interests of Thailand and Kansai.
