On ๓ September ๒๐๑๙, Ms. Sweeya Santipitaks, Consul General of Thailand in Kolkata, staff of the Royal Thai Consulate-General, and team of doctors and nurses from Lerdsin Hospital and Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, visited Darjeeling, West Bengal for the Consulate’s annual Consular Outreach Project. The activity, held at St. Paul School in Darjeeling, was attended by around ๑๔๐ Thai students studying in ๑๐ schools in Darjeeling. The students received basic health check-up and consultation. Furthermore, Dhammaduta Bhikkus from Wat Thai Rajadutta ๖๐๙ in Darjeeling also joined the programme and offered chanting and blessing to Thai students and team of the doctors and staff of the Royal Thai Consulate.
On ๔ September ๒๐๑๙, the team paid a visit to St. Joseph North Point in Darjeeling and met with the school’s rector, principal as well as ๓๐ Thai students.In addition, the team also visited Wat Thai Rajadutta ๖๐๙ and presented the financial contribution from the Royal Thai Government for organizations supporting consular services to the Thai community. The group also took this opportunity to offer alms to the bhikkhus residing at the monastery.
