On 13 August 2019 Ambassador Nantana Sivakua joined the ASEAN Heads of Missions to welcome H.E. General the Honourable David Hurley, and Mrs. Linda Hurley to the reception commemorating the 52th Anniversary of the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations or ASEAN at Albert Hall, Canberra.

H.E. David Hurley gave a very inspirational speech congratulating the ASEAN countries of their success in uniting as one community with one vision and one identity.  He referred with appreciation to the lyrics in ASEAN Anthem, “ASEAN—we are bounded as one”, and “We dare to dream and we care to share.”  Each ASEAN country also presented to the guests special dishes of food representing own unique taste and culture.  H.E. the Governor General and Mrs Hurley graciously visited all ASEAN food presentation.  They found “pad thai” and “green curry grilled chicken” very tasty and were very impressive at the fruit and flower decoration using the famous Thai style of fruit carving. Ambassador and her team from Royal Thai Embassy wish to express our utmost appreciation to our special guests.
