On 23-27 September 2024, Director-General Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang of the Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs, headed the Thai delegation at the 49th session of Working Group III of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) in Vienna.

During the meeting, Working Group III considered several important documents for ISDS reform including: (1) The draft statute for establishing a permanent mechanism for resolving international investment disputes (2) Draft provisions on procedural and cross-cutting issues (3) The draft multilateral instrument on ISDS reform.

Furthermore, On 24 September 2024, the Director-General chaired a side event to share information about Thailand's preparations to host the Advisory Centre Operationalization (ACOP) meeting from 2-4 December 2024, in Bangkok. The meeting will serve as a platform to discuss the establishment of the Advisory Centre on International Investment Dispute Resolution.
