Upon the invitation of His Excellency General (Ret.) Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, His Excellency Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, and Madam Tran Nguyet Thu, will pay an Official Visit to Thailand on 16 November 2022, prior to attending the Asia - Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Bangkok.

This will be the first visit to Thailand by His Excellency Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc since he assumed the Presidency of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in April 2021.

The visit will be an important opportunity for Thailand and Viet Nam to reiterate their determination to further advance political, security, economic, and people–to–people linkages and synergies, which will propel the economic and social recovery of the two countries and the Mekong Sub-region from the impacts of COVID-19 amidst many international challenges at present.

During the visit, the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam will attend the official welcoming ceremony and has a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Thailand at the Government House, to be followed by an official dinner that the Prime Minister of Thailand and spouse will host in honour of the President of Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and his spouse as well as a high-level delegation from Viet Nam.
