Ceremonies and activity to Commemorate the 100th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol on 20 September 2025

On 19 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR, together with Team Thailand, officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane and spouses organised the following ceremonies and activity to commemorate the 100th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol on 20 September 2025;
1. Alms Giving Ceremony
H.E. Ambassador together with Team Thailand, officials of the Royal Thai Embassy and spouses offered alms to 10 Buddhist monks at the Residence of the Thai Ambassador. The alms giving ceremony was presided over by Most Venerable Maha Veth Masenai, the Abbot of Si Saket Temple and Acting President of the Central Buddhist Fellowship Organisation of Lao PDR.
2. Ceremony to Commemorate His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol
H.E. Ambassador led Team Thailand, officials of the Royal Thai Embassy and spouses in a ceremony to commemorate His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol. H.E. Ambassador laid a floral tribute and paid homage to His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol.
3. Activity of the Royal Thai Volunteers
H.E. Ambassador together with Team Thailand, officials of the Embassy and spouses presented a donation of 34,000 baht to the Hands of Hope Vocational Training Centre for the Deaf to improve the quality of life for the deaf in the Lao PDR, as an activity of the Royal Thai Volunteers. The Hands of Hope Vocational Training Centre for the Deaf is a training facility that offers vocational training in areas such as cooking, sewing, computer skills, and agriculture, to improve the quality of lives of the deaf in the Lao PDR. It aims to equip the deaf with necessary skills to pursue careers and earn sustainable income to support themselves and their families.
