On 4 February 2025, H.E. Mrs. Lalivan Kanchanachari, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Evgeny Tomikhin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Thailand.

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the dynamism displayed in the cultural cooperation advanced by the two countries, evidenced by the successful Year of Cultural and Tourism Exchanges between Thailand and Russia in 2024 that marked a significant milestone in their bilateral cultural cooperation. Both sides also expressed their readiness to work closely to advance proposed activities and other pending cooperation. Furthermore, both sides discussed their best practices and exchanged experiences in soft power promotion, as well as ways forward to strengthen bilateral cultural collaboration.
