On 28 February 2025, H.E. Dr. Lalivan Karnjanachari, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs and H.E. Mr. Chutintorn Gongsakdi, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed and held discussions with H.E. Mr. Javier Viveros, Vice Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Republic of Paraguay and his delegation during their visit to Thailand from 26 February to 2 March 2025.

The Vice Minister reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to fostering closer bilateral relations with Paraguay across political, economic, and social dimensions, including advancing high-level visits and promoting cooperation in mutually beneficial areas such as sustainable agriculture and hydropower management.

In addition, both sides discussed ways to expand trade and investment opportunities, particularly by facilitating Thailand’s access to Southern Common market (MERCOSUR) as well as Paraguay’s access to ASEAN markets with Thailand as a gateway.
