On 30 April 2025, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, together with the Thai Ambassador to Egypt and the delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, paid a courtesy call on Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam Sheikh of Al-Azhar, to express appreciation to Al-Azhar University for granting scholarships to Thai students and ensuring their well-being. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed El-Tayeb commended the Thai students for their dedication to their studies and laudable behaviour.

On this occasion, the Vice Minister presented a financial contribution from the Royal Thai Government to Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed El-Tayeb, as a gesture of gratitude and support for Al-Azhar University.

In the afternoon, the Vice Minister and delegates met with representatives of the Thai Students' Association in Cairo Under Royal Patronage to give advice and learn about the roles and activities of the Association.
