On 8 July 2024, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call and discussed with H.E. Mr. Jonathan Dale Kings, Ambassador of New Zealand to Thailand.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation towards the Strategic Partnership by 2026, including the exchanges of high-level visits, the 13th Thailand-New Zealand Senior Officials’ Talks (SOTs), the promotion of economic linkages, the visa exemption for Thai passport holders, the resumption of direct flight and the development of a comprehensive action plan leading to the Strategic Partnership.

Additionally, both sides exchanged views on domestic and international issues, including the situation in Myanmar, Ukraine and the South China Sea.
