On 12th June 2024, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, as representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Guest of Honour, attended the reception on the occasion of the 126th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence and Nationhood and the 75th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and Thailand, at Siam Kempinski Hotel, Bangkok. The reception was attended by more than 700 guests, comprising high-ranking government officials, diplomatic corps, guests from public and private sector, Filipino community in Thailand, and the press.

In his remarks, the Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs addressed the longstanding friendship based on mutual respect, shared values and common interests between the two countries. He also congratulated the Government and the people of the Philippines on this auspicious occasion and delighted that Thailand and the Philippines will celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations under the theme “Moving Forward to a New Era of Closer Friendship and Common Prosperity”.

At this reception, both sides co-organised activities to raise awareness on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, such as logo contest awarding ceremony, the showcase of Muaythai and Arnis, art exhibition and fashion show.
