On 11 November 2025, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.
Both sides discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations across various areas, including the establishment of Thailand - Qatar Political Consultations, the conclusion of pending draft Memoranda of Understanding, as well as the enhancement of cooperation in food security, energy, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges. They also agreed to promote more high-level visits.
Both sides exchanged views on regional developments, particularly the Thailand - Cambodia border situation. The Vice Minister stated that Thailand has lodged a protest with Cambodia following the landmine incident on 10 November 2025, which injured several Thai soldiers, with one sustaining a permanent disability. The Minister of State of Qatar highlighted Qatar’s constructive role in the Middle East and expressed support for Thailand and Cambodia to resolve the issue peacefully through dialogue.
