Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs meets with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Thailand

On 8 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Evagoras Vryonides, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Thailand, with residence in New Delhi, on the occasion of the Ambassador’s visit to Thailand.

Both sides exchanged views on ways to further promote bilateral relations, particularly for the upcoming 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Cyprus, Cyprus’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union during the first half of this year, and the outline of activities that Cyprus plans to undertake in Thailand. The Vice Minister also briefed the Ambassador on the latest developments on the Thailand - Cambodia border situation.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expediting the conclusion of the Agreement on Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a Thailand - Cyprus bilateral consultation mechanism, both of which are currently under consideration.
