On 29 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, together with H.E. Mr. Jukr Boon-long, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended “Seafood Under the Stars 2026” at Hotel Nikko Bangkok. This annual event is co-organized by the Thai - Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok, and the Norwegian Seafood Council to showcase Norway’s innovation, sustainability, and culture through its renowned seafood and Norwegian companies operating in Thailand.

Thailand and Norway established diplomatic relations in 1905, marking the 121st anniversary this year. Both countries have strong and enduring ties at all levels, as well as a shared commitment to sustainability and green transition. Economic relations are also dynamic, particularly with the signing of the Thailand - EFTA Free Trade Agreement in 2025, in which Norway is a key member country. In addition, Thailand ranks among the top importers of Norwegian seafood products in Southeast Asia, especially salmon products.
