Ambassador of Thailand to the United States attended a Business Luncheon hosted by the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council (USABC)

On 26 September 2024, H.E. Mr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., attended a Business Luncheon on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, organized by the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council (USABC). The event was co-hosted by Ambassador Ted Osius, President and CEO of USABC, and DGA Group.  Also in attendance were executives from USABC's member companies including Amazon, Cheniere Energy, Chevron, Lockheed Martin, 3M, Abbott, and Medtronic.

Ambassador Suriya emphasized the policy continuity of the new Thai Government with primary focus on proactive economic diplomacy and Thailand's readiness to work with the U.S. private sector to enhance trade and promote investments, particularly in key sectors such as clean energy and digital economy. He also highlighted an essential role of the U.S. private sector in driving the Thailand-U.S. strategic partnership. In response, the executives of member companies stressed the importance of Thailand as their trade and investment partner as well as expressed their commitment to work with the Thai side both at the bilateral level and through the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF).

In addition, both sides also exchanged views on how to advance cooperation in workforce upskilling and enhancing Thailand's competitiveness in key sectors of mutual interests.
