On 4 November 2022, H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a meeting with Mr. Brett M. Holmgren, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Intelligence and Research. Both sides reaffirmed the long-standing Thailand – U.S. alliance and strategic partnership and welcomed the increasing dynamism of the bilateral relations.

Both sides discussed ways to promote cooperation on intelligence between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. Department of States and highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation and capacity-building to address traditional and non-traditional security challenges, such as cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), emerging diseases and global pandemic, as well as misinformation and fake news.

In addition, both sides exchanged views on important regional and global developments, underscoring the crucial roles of ASEAN, and the constructive collaboration between Thailand and the U.S in the region.
