On 10 April 2025, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of Department of International Organizations, chaired the National Committee on the Implementation of Recommendations under the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Mechanism under the Human Rights Council (HRC) at the Ministry. The meeting was attended by relevant agencies that are members of the National Committee.

The Committee was informed of Thailand’s role as a new member of the HRC for the term 2025-2027, the initiatives and activities planned for 2025, as well as the progress on the implementation of accepted recommendations and voluntary pledges made during Thailand’s 3rd UPR cycle and its mid-term review. The meeting also discussed cooperation with special procedures and mandate holders of the HRC to promote and protect human rights nationally, including the preparation for the submission and oral presentation of national periodic reports under various United Nations Human Rights Treaties Bodies, as well as the preparation of Thailand’s 4th Cycle UPR national report.
