On 26 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign affairs met with H.E. Ms. Julie Bishop, Special Envoy of the Secretary-General on Myanmar during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The Foreign Minister exchanged view with SESG on Myanmar on the current situation in Myanmar, explored cooperation to support Myanmar in its own process towards general elections and sustainable peace and stability with the engagements of all groups and with the support of ASEAN and other countries in the region.
