The Royal Thai Government provides humanitarian assistance to Ukraine

Following the Royal Thai Government’s approval of the humanitarian assistance for Ukraine amounting to 2 million baht (approximately 60,000 USD) according to the Government of Ukraine’s request through the Embassy of Ukraine in Thailand.

On 12 April 2022, the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw delivered the first batch of relief items to the Polish Red Cross, represented by Ms. Katarzyna Mikołajczyk, Director-General of the Polish Red Cross. The relief items consisted of 71,000 items of food, blankets and sleeping bags, baby and child products, hygiene items and first aid kits and etc, amounting 2 million baht. These relief items will be distributed to the Ukrainian people affected by the crisis on the ground at the first opportunity.

The Polish Red Cross extended appreciation for Thailand’s support to humanitarian mission of the Polish Red Cross. Thailand is among the first countries that cooperate with the Polish Red Cross in extending humanitarian assistance people in need. Mr. Jeerasak Pomsuwan, Chargé d'affaires, the Royal Thai Embassy, informed that the Royal Thai Government and the Royal Thai Embassy, appreciated being part of the humanitarian mission. In addition to the relief items, the Royal Thai Embassy is willing to provide other humanitarian supports such as volunteering work particularly in Lublin, where the Polish Red Cross’s central hub for humanitarian aid is located.

Thailand’s decision underlines her deep concerns over the plight of affected civilians and reflects the determination to support the international community to alleviate the consequences of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
