The Royal Thai Consulate-General, together with Team Thailand Offices in the United Arab Emirates, hosted “Thailand Pavilion Launch & Networking Reception” on 27 September 2021 at 19.00-21.00 hrs. at Dusit Thani Dubai to introduce Thailand Pavilion and its activities at the Expo 2020 Dubai to diplomatic and consular corps, officials responsible for respective Country Pavilions, UAE press and media, social media bloggers and influencers, and representatives of public and private agencies in the UAE.

The reception was co-presided by H.E. Mr. Waravuth Pouapinya, Ambassador, and Mr. Chairat Sirivat, Consul-General. In their remarks, guests were informed of Thailand’s Pavilion theme of “Mobility for the Future” which highlights the country’s advancement in digital technology and innovation, and potential as a regional hub for digital technology, trade, investment, smart cities, healthcare and tourism. On this occasion, H.E. Ms. Ajarin Pattanapanchai, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, and Thailand Pavilion Commissioner-General sent her message through the video announcing Thailand Pavilion’s readiness and inviting everyone to visit the Pavilion which will be officially opened by H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand on 1 October 2021.

At the reception, videos on the history and timeline of Thailand Pavilion, including its concept and highlight activities were introduced. Guests were also entertained by a “Thai Miracle” cultural performance by Thailand Pavilion’s organizer, Index Creative Village, chorus performance on “Oh I Say: Royal Composition No.21” by the Thailand Pavilion Youth Ambassadors, and a tour of activity booths by Team Thailand Offices and Thailand Pavilion’s partner agencies, namely, Thai Trade Center- Dubai, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Dubai Office, SCG International Middle East DMCC, PTTEP, Double A and Vega Intertrade and Exhibitions.
