During 1 – 5 April 2025, The Right Honourable K P Sharma Oli, Prime Minister of Nepal, paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand. This marks the first such visit by a Nepali Prime Minister, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on 30 November 1959, or 66 years ago. On 2 April 2025, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra welcomed the Prime Minister of Nepal to the Government House where they had a bilateral meeting to discuss a wide range of issues, including cooperation in trade and investment, connectivity, agriculture and agri-tech, and cooperation in tourism, culture, people-to-people relations, development cooperation, as well as regional and global issues of concern.
Following the meeting, both Prime Ministers witnessed the signing of eight (8) bilateral agreements and MoUs. These documents encompass a wide range of cooperation in tourism, culture, trade, industry, medicine, and education.
