On 12 October 2021, H.E. Lt. Chatchawan Sakornsin, RTN., Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Special Envoy of H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, participated in the 6th Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of CICA in Nur-Sultan. He delivered Thailand’s statement which stressed the need for all member countries to have access to COVID-19 vaccines in an equitable and timely manner. He also proposed that the post-COVID-19 economic recovery and the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) be pursued through the policy implementation of the Bio, Circular, Green – BCG Economy model so that economic growth is achieved in a sustainable and environmentally-friendly way. Participants in the Meeting also discussed the common challenges and threats that all countries in Asia face, for example, the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, terrorism, the Afghanistan situation, and great-power rivalry and tensions.
