Ambassador of Belarus to Thailand pays courtesy call on Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs

On June 20, 2023, H.E. Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou, Ambassador of Belarus to Thailand with residence in Hanoi, paid a courtesy call on Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of the presentation of Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Kingdom of Thailand.

Both sides discussed ways to promote bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interests, particularly trade, investment, and tourism. The Thai side also expressed her readiness to start negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and wished to seek Belarus’s support on this matter.

The Belarusian Ambassador also met with Mr. Asi Mamanee, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, to discuss Thailand-Belarus relations and follow up on cooperation in various issues, such as organizing Thailand - Belarus Political Consultations, establishing a Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Thailand and Belarus, as well as exchanging views on the situation in Ukraine.
