On 23 June 2022, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and H.E. Mrs. Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam jointly presided over the “Thailand – Viet Nam Business Forum” at Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized on the importance which Thailand attaches to the close relations and economic partnership between Thailand and Viet Nam as a propellant of growth and development of the two countries and the region as a whole. The Deputy Prime Minister suggested Thailand and Viet Nam to intensify efforts on connecting their supply chains and linking grassroots economies, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and their respective sustainable growth strategies with a view to create an environment conducive to increased bilateral trade and investment in the future.
At the seminar, representatives from the public and private sectors of Thailand and Viet Nam discussed ways to further enhance bilateral trade and investment, particularly in the areas of manufacturing, machinery and parts, food, medicine and cosmetics, as well as local products. Moreover, three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on business partnership between were signed at the event.
This business forum is organised by the Thai Host Committee of the Global Summit for Women in collaboration with the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, and Thailand – Viet Nam Business Council, in conjunction with the visit to Thailand of Her Excellency Mrs. Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Vice President of Viet Nam, to attend the 2022 Global Women Summit. It was attended by more than 200 business people from both countries as well as delegates from the 2022 Global Women Summit.
