On 9 December 2022, His Excellency Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia, on behalf of the Royal Thai Government, made a financial contribution of USD 50,000 to Mr. Jusuf Kalla, Chairman of Indonesian Red Cross Society, along with Mr. Ginandjar Kartasasmita, Vice Chairman of Indonesian Red Cross Society, and Mr. Johnny Darmawan, Head of Funds and Infrastructure, Indonesian Red Cross Society, to support the latter’s humanitarian assistance for the people affected by the recent earthquake in Cianjur, West Java, on 21 November 2022.

This recent earthquake had caused large-scale damages to thousands of households, hundreds of casualties, and injuries, leaving many of the local population displaced. The Thai Ambassador expressed his deepest condolences on behalf of the Royal Thai Government, and reiterated Thailand’s readiness, as highlighted by H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, to support Indonesia as a close friend and fellow ASEAN family member in her efforts to bring relief to those in the affected areas.
