Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Discussed Promoting Trade and Investment Expansion and Tourism Cooperation with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Thailand

The Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs discussed promoting bilateral relations, trade and tourism cooperation, and exchanged views on cooperation between ASEAN and Ukraine, in a farewell call by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Thailand.
On 14 May 2021, H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Andrii Beshta, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Thailand, at the latter’s farewell call where the Permanent Secretary thanked the Ambassador for his active role in promoting the Thai-Ukrainian relations during the 5-year tenure.
Both sides discussed promoting the Thai-Ukrainian bilateral relations, especially on trade and investment, agriculture, tourism and science and technology, and agreed that after the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, both sides will be promoting trade and tourism cooperation. The Thai and Ukrainian sides also exchanged views on possible high-level meetings and exchanges of high-level visits to advance bilateral cooperation, including a plan to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2022.
Furthermore, both sides discussed cooperation at the regional and international levels such as cooperation between ASEAN and Ukraine and mutual support of their candidatures in the international arena.
