On 22 May 2026, H.E. Mrs. Arunrung Phothong Humphreys hosted a working luncheon meeting with Mr. Daniel Wolvén, Director-General for Asia-Pacific and Latin America Department, in preparation for the inaugural Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) Meeting under the Thailand–Sweden Strategic Partnership. The meeting, held at the Ambassador’s Residence, was attended by representatives from the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice of Sweden, and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy.

Discussions focused on advancing the framework and implementation of Thailand–Sweden cooperation across a broad spectrum of areas. Particular emphasis was placed on security cooperation in light of emerging and evolving threats, including cybersecurity; judicial cooperation; trade and investment; innovation and sustainable development; Thailand–Sweden cooperation in multilateral fora; as well as global crises and regional developments.

The first JCC Meeting is scheduled to take place in Thailand on 29 May 2026, marking another important milestone in strengthening and advancing Thailand–Sweden relations. Thailand and Sweden formally signed the Strategic Partnership document on 26 August 2025, reflecting the shared political commitment of both countries to deepen and elevate cooperation in areas of mutual priority. These include the establishment of a strategic bilateral political consultation mechanism, trade and investment, defence cooperation, green transition, innovation, education, and people-to-people relations.
