On 4 December 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been informed through the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv that the remains of Mr. Sudthisak Rinthalak, a Thai national held in the Gaza Strip since the events of 7 October 2023 were retrieved.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed Mr. Sudthisak's family and is coordinating closely with the relevant Israeli authorities to repatriate his remains to Thailand at the earliest opportunity, as well as has assigned the Head of the Temporary Passport Office in Udon Thani to visit and offer support to Mr. Sudthisak’s family in Nong Khai Province on 5 December 2025.

The Royal Thai Government wishes to extend its sincere appreciation to Qatar, Egypt, Iran, Türkiye, the United States, and other friendly countries, as well as the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and all parties concerned, for their instrumental roles in securing the release of 28 Thai hostages and the retrieval of the remains of 3 Thai nationals in the Gaza Strip. Thailand also extends our gratitude to Israel for its continued cooperation in providing assistance and necessary facilitation to ensure the dignified return of Thai hostages and the bodies of those who lost their lives.

Thailand welcomes the progress made in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which has led to the complete release of all Thai hostages and the return of the remains of Thai nationals. Thailand calls on all parties to adhere to the agreed terms and exert their utmost efforts toward the next phase of negotiations in order to address the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and advance a peaceful and lasting resolution of the conflict based on the two-State solution.
