On 25 March 2025,  Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and Ms. Aruni Ranaraja, Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism of Sri Lanka, co-chaired the 6th Thailand-Sri Lanka Bilateral Political Consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangkok.

The meeting aimed to review progress made since the 5th Bilateral Political Consultations held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in August 2023, as well as the  official visit to Sri Lanka by the former Prime Minister of Thailand in February 2024. With the 70th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka this year, the discussions, thus, focused on enhancing cooperation in key areas particularly trade and investment, renewable energy, fisheries, agricultural processing, culture and tourism.

After the meeting, the co-chairpersons presided over the presentation of the awards to the winners of 70th Anniversary commemorative logo contest, with the first-prize winner receiving 50,000 Baht. The logo will be used in commemorative activities organised by both sides throughout the year.
