Ambassadors Tanee exchanges views with Director General for Consular Affairs and Safety of the ROK to promote closer cooperation on tourism and labor related issues

On 12 March 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, met with H.E. Mr. Yoon Chusok, Director General of Consular Affairs and Safety of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ROK at the MFA in Seoul.

Both sides exchanged views on the pathway to sustainable management of the issue of Thai illegal immigrants in the ROK by reducing Thai illegal immigrants and increasing Thai legal immigrants.

Ambassador Tanee also followed up the K-ETA upgrading progress of the Korea Immigration Service in order to resolve the problem of Thai travelers being denied entry to the ROK whilst acquiring K-ETA approval in advance. This measure will help increase tourism exchanges between the two countries.
