Department of ASEAN Affairs invites you to join a virtual Seminar on “Connecting the Connectivities: Synergy through Enhanced Partnership”. The Seminar will serve as a platform to gather recommendations in enhancing the implementation of Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025 (MPAC 2025), update the current dynamics on the global supply chain productions and future development directions, discuss and promote further collaboration between concrete cooperation within the region, and explore ways to promote connectivity beyond ASEAN.

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand by the Department of ASEAN Affairs, in cooperation with the World Bank and the ASEAN Secretariat, will co-organise a Seminar on “Connecting the Connectivities: Synergy through Enhanced Partnership” via videoconference on 22 January 2021 at 10.00 – 16.00 hrs.(Bangkok Time).

 

On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Chutintorn Gongsakdi, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, together with H.E. Dato Lim Jock Hoi, Secretary-General of ASEAN, and Mr. Ranjit Lamech, Regional Director (East Asia & Pacific), Infrastructure Department, World Bank will deliver the opening remarks. The virtual Seminar will be divided into three sessions, focusing on important issues for economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, namely, (1) Global Supply Chain Connectivity (2) Green and Digital Connectivity and (3) Smart and Sustainable Connectivity.

 

The virtual Seminar will serve as a platform for discussion among policy makers, experts, the public sector, and academia from the ASEAN Member States and their Dialogue Partners. It aims to  (1) gather recommendations in enhancing the implementation of Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025 (MPAC 2025) through the “Connecting the Connectivities” approach (2) update the current dynamics on the global supply chain productions and future development directions (3) provide a platform for policy discussion and promote further collaboration and concrete cooperation between stakeholders on connectivity in the region, and (4) explore on ways to promote connectivity beyond ASEAN based on the principles contained in the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific.
