On 23 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Chutintorn Gongsakdi, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the Honourable Ms. Jane Howlett, Tasmanian Minister for Primary Industries and Water, Hospitality and Small Business, and Racing, who paid a courtesy call during her visit to Thailand. The visit is part of the Tasmanian Government’s trade and investment mission to Thailand from 22 to 24 May 2025, with the aim of strengthening business networks and exploring trade and investment opportunities.

The Secretary and the Minister discussed opportunities to promote trade and investment between Thailand and the State of Tasmania across various sectors, with the aim of driving economic growth and improving the quality of life. Particular focus was given to the cooperation in agriculture, tourism, and clean energy sectors, where both sides possess outstanding potential.
