On 7 June 2023, His Excellency Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with H.H. Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, during his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia upon the invitation of His Excellency the Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the appreciation of the Royal Thai Government to the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the support rendered to the operation to evacuate the Thai nationals affected by the escalating situation in Sudan. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also handed over the letter of appreciation from His Excellency General Prayut Chan-o-cha (Ret.), Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on this matter.
Furthermore, the two sides expressed satisfaction with the bilateral relations, especially the exchanges of high-level visits at all levels from the public and private sectors, which had resulted in tangible and rapid progress in all areas during the past 16 months since the normalisation of the diplomatic relations between the two Kingdom. The two Ministers also discussed ways and means to elevate the Thai–Saudi cooperation to new heights, through mechanism such as the Saudi - Thai Coordination Council (STCC), which the Thai side will host the first meeting at the earliest opportunity, the Roadmap to Strengthen Bilateral Relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Roadmap), as well as the Saudi–Thai Joint Business Council (JBC) for which an MOU to establish the JBC had already been signed between the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce (FSCC) and the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB). The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also stressed that Saudi Arabia is an important partner for Thailand in all areas, and would thus remain an important priority of the Thai foreign policy.
The two sides also discussed and exchanged on the political situations and developments in the region and the world, as well as other matters of mutual interests.
