On 22 November 2024, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, welcomed and had a discussion with H.E. Ms. Rukhsana Afzaal, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Thailand, on the occasion of the Ambassador’s assumption of duty.

The Permanent Secretary extended congratulations on the occasion of the Ambassador's assumption of duty and highlighted the long-standing and cordial relations between Thailand and Pakistan, particularly the visits to Pakistan by the members of the Thai Royal Family, which has reflected the close ties between the two nations.

Both sides expressed their commitment to foster cooperation in various dimensions, especially in promoting high-level visits, strengthening cooperation within multilateral frameworks such as ASEAN and the Organisation of Islamic Cooepration (OIC), as well as expanding collaboration in the defence sector. In addition, they agreed on the importance of fully utilising the existing bilateral mechanisms to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
