On 28 February 2025, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Marc Abensour, Ambassador for the Indo–Pacific of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, during his visit to the country. Both sides discussed the implementation of France’s Indo-Pacific strategy, the strengthening of cooperation across various sectors under the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP), and the Indo-Pacific strategies of both France and the European Union. They also exchanged views on regional developments and geopolitical tensions.
The two parties agreed on the importance of ASEAN Centrality in promoting regional security and prosperity. Thailand and France reaffirmed their commitment to multilateralism in upholding a rules-based international order, enhancing regional security, fostering economic growth, and supporting sustainable development.
