On 22 October 2024, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, discussed with Ms. SungAh Lee, Deputy Director General (DDG) for Management and Reform of International Organization for Migration (IOM) during the latter's visit to Thailand on 21 - 23 October 2024.

On this occasion, both sides exchanged views on the promotion of collaboration between the Government of Thailand and the IOM on managing migration and protecting the rights of migrants in Thailand. They also discussed the ongoing negotiation on a Host Country Agreement and the preparations for the upcoming Asia-Pacific Regional Review of Implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM), which will be convened from 4 to 6 February 2025 in Bangkok.
