On 24 May 2025, Ms. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, attended the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (ASEAN SOM) held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Malaysia.

The meeting discussed the preparations for the upcoming ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM), the 46th ASEAN Summit and related Summits scheduled for 25 - 27 May 2025. It also followed up on key issues including ASEAN’s external relations and Timor-Leste’s application for ASEAN membership.

As ASEAN Coordinator for Sustainable Development Cooperation, the Permanent Secretary advanced the Complementarities Initiative 2.0, which seeks to promote synergies and complementarity between the ASEAN Community Vision 2045—expected to be adopted at the upcoming Summit—and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
