H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, will make an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia and co-chair the 11th Meeting of the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia in Phnom Penh during 16 - 18 December 2021, at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai will also pay a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Government House of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

This 11th Meeting of the Joint Commission will be held under the theme “Peace, Prosperity, Recovery Together” with particular focus on (1) enhancing cooperation for recovery from COVID-19, (2) promoting border of peace and prosperity, and (3) enhancing people-to-people exchanges.

The Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation is one of the major mechanisms to promote cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia in all aspects. This 11th Meeting of the Joint Commission will serve as an opportunity for Thailand and Cambodia to review and take stock of the bilateral achievements they have made together since the previous meeting in Bangkok in 2016 and to chart the way forward in further strengthening their “Partnership for Peace and Prosperity.” Of highest importance would be the consideration of measures to support one another to achieve speedy socio-economic recovery for the peoples of the two countries from the impacts of the COVID-19 situation.
