H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, is scheduled to attend the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, and pay an official visit to the People’s Republic of China, at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, during 16 - 19 October 2023. During the Belt and Road Forum, the Prime Minister will deliver a statement at the High Level Forum on “Green Silk Road for Harmony with Nature” focusing on cooperation on green economy and sustainable development.

During the official visit, Prime Minister Srettha will pay a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, and have a bilateral meeting with the H.E. Mr. Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, and H.E. Mr. Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. Prime Minister Srettha will also have discussions with Chinese business executives to explore further collaboration in trade and investment between Thailand and China. Representatives from Thai private sectors will also participate in business activities during the visit and meet with their Chinese counterparts to discuss ways to enhance their business partnership. Prime Minister Srettha will deliver remarks on key economic policies at an investment promotion forum, which will be attended by private sectors from both countries.

Prime Minister Srettha’s official visit provides an opportunity to further strengthen the Thailand - China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and to forge closer cooperation in all areas, particularly in trade, investment, connectivity and people-to-people exchange, which will be beneficial to the economic development and livelihoods of the people of both countries.
