On 27 November 2024, the Department of International Economic Affairs held a get together event “Bridges & Beyond: A Collaborative Evening” at Vithes Samosorn to meet with partner agencies, both public and private sectors, and to receive their feedback, proposals and expectations regarding future activities and economic diplomacy projects to be organised by the Department next year and beyond.

Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department, delivered remarks highlighting the role of the Ministry in guiding and supporting the Thai private sector in exploring opportunities alongside international markets by utilizing almost 100 embassies and consulates worldwide as platforms. The Ministry is committed to facilitating the private sector, who is the real player in driving the country’s economy, while the Department will continue to work as one with Thai private enterprises in advancing the policy of proactive economic diplomacy.

In 2025, Thailand will host the BIMSTEC and ACD meetings, as well as is in the process of applying to be a member of the OECD. These events will be great opportunities for enhanced collaboration with the private sector.
