As 2025 will mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and Siam Piwat Group, organized the launching event of the Official Logo for this occasion on 19 November 2024 at the ICONSIAM.

H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Mr. Han Zhiqiang, Ambassador of China, presided over the event, which was attended by TAT Governor, Director-General of MFA’s Department of East Asian Affairs, President of Thai-Chinese Friendship Association, Executives of Siam Piwat Group, as well as invited guests and members of the mass media.

In his opening remarks, Foreign Minister Maris emphasized the special relations between Thailand and China, which have continuously developed over the past half a century, since Thailand’s then Prime Minister and Chinese Premier signed the Joint Communique on the Establishment of the Diplomatic Relations on 1 July 1975. The 50th Anniversary will be a good opportunity for both sides to further enhance their cooperation, making 2025 “the Golden Jubilee for Thailand-China Friendship” as H.E. Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra suggested to H.E. Premier Li Qiang of China, and moving toward the building of “a Thailand-China Community with a Shared Future for Enhanced Stability, Prosperity and Sustainability” as previously agreed by leaders of both sides.

Representatives of MFA, Chinese Embassy, TAT, and Thai-Chinese Friendship Association also sat on Panel Discussion where they shared plans for celebration activities for the 50th anniversary next year, as well as the role of each organization in promoting Thai-Sino cooperation.

MFA also took this opportunity to annouce a special collaboration with POP MART INTERNATIONAL GROUP LIMITED, in which a limited edition of “DIMOO” IP will be entitled as “Special Friend of Thailand-China Golden Jubilee” and is expected to launch in 2025 as part of the celebration.

Special show “Dao Ma Dan” by Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, inspired by the history of female Chinese opera troupe in 18th century Thai court, underlined the close ties between the two countries since ancient times. TAT also supported the presence of “Nonkul”, a Thai actor well-loved both in Thailand and China, as special guest.

The 50th Anniversary Official Logo was jointly designed by MFA and China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Naga and Dragon, mythical creatures with auspicious meaning of both cultures are used to represent Thailand and China, borrowing colors from both countries’ national flags. Facing each other, the Naga and Dragon are looking at the same yellow-gold orb, implying Thailand and China both aiming for the same goal, “a Thailand-China Community with a Shared Future for Enhanced Stability, Prosperity and Sustainability”.
The Official Logo will be available for use in activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary. For further information, please scan QR code or contact the Department of East Asian Affairs, MFA, at E-mail: [email protected].
