Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs welcomes IOM Deputy Director-General for Management and Reform Ad Interim

On 15th February 2024, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, met with Ms. Irena Vojáčková-Sollorano, IOM Deputy Director-General (DDG) for Management and Reform Ad Interim, during the latter’s visit to Thailand.

On this occasion, PS was briefed on IOM’s organizational reform and new strategic plan, especially those concerning the IOM Regional Office and Country Mission in Thailand. PS emphasized that Thailand attaches high importance to migration management, especially the promotion of regular pathways, in order to promote the country’s economic growth, and reaffirmed the commitment to continuing cooperation with the IOM on this matter.

 

She also expressed appreciation for the IOM’s support to Thailand in providing assistance and protection to various groups of migrants, particularly the vulnerables.
