On 14 February 2024, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, welcomed Mr. Juan Pedro Schaerer, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation in Bangkok, during his call to congratulate her on the new position.

On this occasion, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs was informed of the updates on the restructuring of ICRC and its effects on ICRC’s activities in Thailand and Asia. The two sides also exchanged views and assessments on humanitarian challenges in the region and shared interests in taking actions to promote the implementation of international humanitarian law on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions.
