Ms. Prangtip Kanchanahattakij, Chargé d'Affaires, ad interim visited Akita Prefecture on November 28, 2023, reinforcing regional ties. The visit included meetings with Mr. SATAKE Norihisa, Governor of Akita Prefecture, and Mr. HOZUMI Motomu, Mayor of Akita City, focusing on economic collaboration, trade and tourism promotion. Through the meetings, CDA Prangtip encouraged Akita Prefecture businessmen to invest in EV, green, and creative economies.

In the evening, CDA Prangtip addressed 150 local businessmen at the Akita-Thailand Friendship Association Annual Meeting, highlighting Thailand's key economic policies such as green and digital economies as well as Eastern Economic Corridor or EEC and Landbridge project.

Thailand has a close relation with Akita prefecture. Notably, Thailand topped Akita Prefecture's export destinations in 2022. Currently, 37 Akita Prefecture companies operate or invest in Thailand, emphasizing the robust economic relationship.

The Akita-Thailand Friendship Association, led by Hokuto Bank, has played a crucial role since its establishment in 2014. This visit underscores the commitment to deepen economic and cultural ties between Akita Prefecture and Thailand, promising positive outcomes in the future.
