On 6 December 2024, Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys gave an opening remark at the Workshop: Integration and Empowerment for Thai Women in Sweden, organised by ThaiWISE Hela Människan i Malmö at Folk Mat & Moten, Malmö. The workshop was attended by around 70 people from government agencies, NGOs and academics.

Ambassador Arunrung congratulated ThaiWISE on its 5 year anniversary. ThaiWISE has been a great partner of the Embassy and has been working with the Embassy, especially in the project to enhance the standard of Nuad Thai or Thai Massage in Sweden. Ambassador also stressed the uniqueness of Thai community in Sweden; the strength of the community which Buddhism is fundamental value, ThaiWISE networking to help vulnerable groups of Thai women and shared objectives to improve the life of Thai vulnerable groups who are victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.

Working with ThaiWISE allows the Embassy to learn of problems that Thai people are facing and lead to finding sustainable solutions to help them. The project to enhance the standard of Nuad Thai that Embassy working with ThaiWISE was a great success in Malmö, Stockholm and is now starting in Gothenburg. This success was indeed a cooperation and coordination between the Royal Thai Embassy, ThaiWISE and Swedish municipalities in Malmö, Stockholm and Gothenburg.
