Ambassador-designate of Thailand to the ROK promotes increased exchanges between Thailand and Jeollanam Province

On 15 May 2024, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador-designate of Thailand to the ROK, held discussions with Mr. Park Chull-joo, Ambassador for International Relations of Jeollanam Provincial Government of the ROK, on ways to increase tourism and economic exchanges between Thailand and the Province. Both sides discussed possible collaboration in festivals to be held by both the Embassy and Jeollanam-do, such as the Embassy’s Sawasdee Seoul Thai Festival in Q3 this year, Jeollanam-do’s Jangheung Water Festival this June at Gwanghwamun Square, and the Province’s annual International Food Festival this September.

Ambassador Tanee commended Jeollanam-do’s strengths in renewable energy, noting Thai conglomerate B.Grimm Power is currently investing in offshore wind power plants in Jeollanam-do, and the potential to attract further investment from other Thai companies in the renewable energy sector.
